The 'Costello Report' into the state's finances recommended moving public services into the private sector, details are displayed on the left in an extract from the Executive Summary that was released February 2013.

The full report is yet to be released.

A 'Megapoll' on privatisation and the election has been conducted across the state via a phone poll.

Queensland Treasurer Tim Nicholls dismissed the exercise as 'push-polling'.
